target-audience: The logo is for personal use only.
It should reflect my bonds with my horse and the breed.
Description: Specifications for the design:

The name of my horse "Tyske Grå" is supposed to be in the logo. The addition of the slogan / subtitle "- (m)ein Fjord für alle Fälle -" (roughly translated: “my/a Fjord Horse for all seasons”) would be nice but is not mandatory. My mare is a silver-grullo Norwegian Fjord Horse. Therefore, I would like a Fjord Horse or the head of a Fjord Horse to be added in the logo. The horse / the horse's head may of course be stylized or abstracted as long as it is clearly recognizable as a Fjord.

The logo will be used as embroidery on the team clothing and saddle pads as well as decoration on the horse trailer. It must therefore work freestanding both on dark and on light background.
From the colour scheme I would prefer earth tones, but I will surely consider other colour schemes if matching the design.

Please do NOT do pink girlie designs with lots of twirls and swirls! ;-)

About the breed:

The Norwegian Fjord Horse is one of the world's oldest and purest breeds. Archaeological excavations at Viking burial sites in Norway indicate that the Fjord Horse has been selectively bred for at least 2,000 years.
The Fjord Horse is a relatively small but very strong horse breed from the mountainous regions of Western Norway. It generally range in size from 13.2 to 14.2 Hands (135-150 cm). All Fjord Horses are dun in colour. There are five shades of dun in the breed: brown dun, red dun, grullo (grå), white or "uls" dun and yellow dun. They retain the "wild" dun colour of the original horse as well as the primitive markings which include zebra stripes on the legs and a dorsal stripe that runs from the forelock down the neck and back and into the tail.
Another characteristic of the Fjord Horse is the mane. The centre hair of the mane is dark while the outer hair is white. The mane is cut short so it will stand erect. It is trimmed in a characteristic crescent shape to emphasize the cu..
