This short briefing was written by a client:

target-audience: The company hosts Surf and Yoga Retreats in South Africa. All retreat packages include a safari tour to a legendary big 5 game reserve. The Big 5 is a reference to the 5 animal species you can expect to see on an African Safari - elephants, rhinos, lions , leopards and buffalo.
The target audience is active people with an interest in yoga , surfing and to visit a Big 5 Safari destination in Africa.
Description: This logo is needed for both a new website and also social media pages. The main aim of the logo is for its use on the new website. In terms of the project specifications I would like to obtain a 'large logo' for insertion into the website and other communication , but I also would need a smaller logo that can be used on social media pages ( as this small 'circular' logo commonly used on social media is quite small then the litmus test for such a small logo would be that clients should be able to link it to the main logo of the website with ease) The final logo should work well in both colour and in black and white.

I am open to aesthetic, modern and elegant designs. I propose that the main themes in the design to explore would be Surfing and Yoga. My concern in incorporating all three elements - Surf , Yoga and Safari would be too much but I does not mean I will not consider designs that incorporate all three. As the main target audience is European it is possible that they may not know what Big 5 refers to but this will hopefully become more clear when they look at the website. Another potential design element that could be explored would be the silhouette of Table Mountain in Cape Town - this is the most distinctive tourist attraction visible from the main beaches where surfing instruction is offered. I would also be open to explore abstract designs that meet the criteria of modern , aesthetic and elegant. Incorporating distinctive African design elements , or even elements of skins ie. Zebra , Leopard could also be interesting provided it is subtle and not the dominant design element.
